Drawing on her background in dance, music, theater, television, filmmaking and writing, she is a major creative force in the world of business communication. She conducts seminars and consults privately with CEOs and senior executives in many corporations. (See Partial List Below)
Sonya Hamlin is a two-time Emmy Award winner, who hosted and produced her own daily talk show in Boston for eleven years. As a communications expert, she appears regularly on network television, analyzing current trials, business issues, political debates and other media communication issues. Known for her wit, and filled with surprising techniques for audience involvement, she is much in demand as a speaker and television contributor.
Ms. Hamlin is also a pioneer in the field of courtroom communication, having created that course at the Harvard Law School. She lectures worldwide and works on cases with law firms, consulting on juries and advocacy skills, preparing witnesses, developing strategies and creating visual presentations of evidence. She teaches advocacy skills –both oral and visual- across the U.S and abroad. Her landmark book, What Makes Juries Listen (Harcourt Brace) completed ten printings; and the revised book and tapes recently updated.
Sonya has taught communication skills at Harvard Law School, The Kennedy School of Government, Boston University’s Medical School and School of Public Communication as well as Oxford and Cambridge Universities in the UK.
Her newest book on business communication in the 21st century – How to Talk so People Listen: Connecting in Today’s Workplace (HarperCollins, 2006) is now available in paperback.
